illustrator/artist

Margot’s childhood in a small town in Ohio, coupled with the creative support of her artist parents set the stage for her world of imagination and expression. At an early age, Margot’s connection to nature and sensitivity to the creatures, human and otherwise, in her life, unleashed her artistic talents, both in visual works and storytelling. From the moment that she sensuously dove into her first finger paints, to passionately delighting in a new box of crayons, Margot has immersed herself in her calling. She has written and illustrated her own books, she has illustrated for published authors and magazines, she has won awards, and been published as a cartoonist. Her love of whimsy, magic and lively colors pepper her themes. Though her main body of work is watercolor, she has recently leapt off into the world of pastels.

Margot lives in an exquisite, bird and coyote inhabited part of LA, with old homes perched above stone stairways, surrounded by lemon and eucalyptus trees, with her husband and fluffy cat. Her adoration of nature and other lands live in her heart; hence travel is in her blood.

Margot’s day job is in T.V. Commercial Production and she is currently a member of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
